WE SAVED A PLACE JUST FOR YOU!
Dear CMN Contributors,
Thank you for your wonderful contributions during the Spring Fundraiser. We made our goal of $4000 and received $4000 in matching funds! And, it's never
too late to donate.
Do you wonder why we raise money? We've given this some thought and all these things sprung to our minds.
We raise money to
- keep us together and in touch,
- maintain a song library for our common use,
- keep our forum up and running so we can easily communicate,
- publish PIO! as a learning resource for ourselves and others,
- keep our blog going, again so we can share and learn, and
- celebrate the positive power of music in the lives of children.
And, how do we do accomplish those goals? First, through the hard-work and dedication of Jane Arsham our Administrative Director. Jane keeps our membership lists up to date, our bank accounts in order, makes sure our 501(c)(3) filings are done properly (with the advice of an attorney), rides herd on the BOD so we do our jobs (committee reports, fund raising, membership, marketing, conferences, regional song swaps, writing constant contact messages). Without an excellent administrative director at the center of gravity our group would fly apart. And, while we knew the role was important, it was only by working closely with the BOD that we fully understood the details of the work.
Second, we accomplish our goals through the work of our webmaster, Carl Foote. A functioning website (and ours is complicated) is no walk in the park!
Third, our PIO! editor, Ginger Lazarus (Brigid Funicane just stepped down). PIO! offers interesting articles, shared experience, not to mention the 5 or more lead-sheets and songs in each issue. We do pay our editor, and take my word for it, she earns her money correcting my typos alone!
And what about our blog team!
Then think of simple items like telephone, internet, bookkeeping, constant contact, bank card, and other service charges. And let's not forget insurance for your Board and administrators. No one would serve on a board today without that! All of those things are necessary to help us meet our goals.
Your contributions keep us going and growing as a collaborative group dedicated to the positive power of music in the lives of children.
Your FUNdraising Team
