Sarah Pirtle was the founding editor of PIO! in 1987, and
she ran the first CMN office. Her son Ryan grew up in the nest of CMN, inspired by all the songs and people. She made
five recordings with Jill Person and A Gentle Wind, starting with
Two Hands Hold the Earth in 1984. Her books Linking Up and Better Together: Caring and Including
Instead of Bullying, have curricular ideas for how songs build community, and they each come with CDs of over forty
songs. She received the Magic Penny Award in 2007.
