Fun song and video to help children learn about the things that can be recycled or reused.

Watch it in class as a fun interlude or as part of a project. I would suggest that most children of 12 or under would enjoy this.

Contains clips from a number of recycling videos currently on YouTube including the Peppa Pig episode.

I did some research as to what can actually be recycled. Some were surprising. There are also some funny ones in there ('tunes and notes ... daddy's old jokes').

Lyrics

We’re turning old things [bang!] into new things [bang! bang!]. It’s exciting! [bang! bang! bang!]. We’re recycling!

Baked bean tins.  Don’t throw ‘em in the bin.  Do a special thing we call recycling.

Christmas cards.  Old jam jars.  Spare guitars.  We’re recycling

Recycling. Every day.

Recycling. Not throwing away.

Recycling everything we can

Recycling. To turn old things …

Recycling.  … into new things.

That sounds like a very good plan.  Recycling.

Old Shampoos.  Pizza menus.  Grandad’s shoes. We’re recycling

Envelopes.  Tunes and notes.  Daddy’s old jokes.  We’re recycling

Recycling. Every day.

Recycling. Not throwing away.

Recycling everything we can

Recycling.  To turn old things …

Recycling.  … into new things.

That sounds like a very good plan.  Recycling.

Recycle. Yes, we can! [repeat]

Bottles and cans and frying pans.  Toilet rolls. Socks full of holes.

Old CDs. Dead batteries.  Recycling.

Mobile phones.  Broken trombones.  Magazines. Trampolines.

Cardboard box. Professor Brian Cox. Recycling.

Recycling. Every day.

Recycling. Not throwing away.

Recycling everything we can

Recycling.  To turn old things …

Recycling.  … into new things.

That sounds like a very good plan.  Recycling.

Recycle. Yes, we can! [repeat]

Children can collect and sort a pile of rubbish into recyclable piles. No sharp tins or glass in there!
