Red Grammer has been creating award-winning music for kids and families for decades.
It began when, while working as the lead-singer replacement for Glenn Yarborough in the Grammy-nominated folk trio, the Limeliters, Red recorded his first album for kids, a collection of songs written with his late wife, Kathy, for their two sons, David and Andy. Buoyed by the positive response they went on to write the songs for Red’s second album for kids, “Teaching Peace”, which the All-Music Guide calls “one of the top five children’s recordings of all time” and which earned him a coveted Parents’ Choice “Classic” Award. More award-winning albums followed including “Down the Do Re Mi” and “Hello World”, both Parents’ Choice “Gold” award winners. He was featured on the Grammy-winning “CElla-bration” (Best Recording for Children) and two years later was nominated for a Grammy in the same category for his “Bebop Your Best” album. Next came the Parents’ Choice, NAAPA, and Dr. Toy award-winning “Circle of Light: Songs for Bucket Fillers” followed by his current rollicking love letter to planet Earth, “Hooray for the World!”.
Red has been featured on the Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, Showtime, The Today Show and CBS This Morning. His live performances in America’s finest performing arts centers and in thousands of schools across the country have inspired countless children and adults to remember to look for the best in themselves and others. His foreign tours have taken him to twenty-three countries on five continents. He is a frequent keynote and workshop presenter at national and regional educational conferences and has been tapped to create songs for educational and book publishers including Oxford University Press, Learning Curve, Soundprints and Play Entertainment.
Red's latest album “Hooray for the World!” employs his signature open-heartedness, joie de vivre, and masterful songwriting in the timely task of encouraging each of us to find our place championing the inestimable splendor and diversity of our precious home, planet Earth.
