Join Mara Sapon-Shevin as she shares strategies and songs for creating musical experiences that honor the religious beliefs and practices of all children and their families. We will also explore ways to ensure that our children's music does not inadvertently foster or reinforce stereotypes about any religious group.

Come learn new songs, share what you've done in this area, and ask any questions that will help us all become more thoughtful and inclusive in our musical practices.

Mara is a long-time (over thirty years!) member of the Children's Music Network and a former board member. She is Professor Emerita of Inclusive Education at Syracuse University and the author of many books and articles on inclusion, diversity, anti-racism and challenging oppression. She frequently presents at CMN on issues of diversity and inclusion and hosts a morning dance offering at the Conference each year.
