Keynote Speaker

Start Now.  Use What You Have.

In a time when stories of marginalized communities are being silenced, we must remember, this is nothing new. And we know what to do. As an artist and educator trained under mentors that teach social justice through the arts, Fyütch has learned how to seamlessly spark conversations about history and empowerment through his music, and has seen firsthand how we can turn our creativity into action.

This keynote will challenge children’s artists and educators to stop waiting for the “right time” and start using what they already have to make an impact. Whether through music, storytelling, or classroom discussions, we have the power to inspire change right now.

Fyütch

Harold "Fyütch" Simmons II is a GRAMMY-nominated artist, songwriter, producer, and educator, known for his empowering songs for all-ages.

Fyütch has contributed to award-winning albums, radio-charting songs, and original compositions for TV and family media. His work has been featured on The Today Show and The Nick Cannon Show. Fyütch hosts the kids' podcast Once Upon a Beat, "where Hip-Hop and fairytales meet." His social justice curriculum is taught at schools nationwide.

Fyütch and his 7-year-old daughter, Aura V, create music together and have performed at renowned venues like Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and Strathmore. The pair also host their own podcast called The Family Frequency, interviewing musicians, authors, scientists, and more—about their journeys, and the creative process.

Every year it gets bigger and better, creating many opportunities for performers, educators, songwriters, librarians, and families—all those who love music for children—to gather.
