All You Need to Know Before Registering

All the specifics with regard to your conference registration are on the form itself, including add on options like the pre-conference day at the MIM. This document covers a number of things you need to know before registering.

Conference Fees General:

Full Conference Fee: Includes sleeping accommodations, all workshops, Keynote, Magic Penny Award ceremony, Round Robins and 6 meals (Friday dinner-Sunday lunch. Please check out the beautiful space at

Commuter Full Weekend Rate: Includes all workshops and activities and meals except breakfast.

Day Rates: Includes all activities and lunch and dinner on Saturday. Sunday includes workshop, Magic Penny and lunch.

Children and Youth: We encourage you to bring your children to this beautiful space and event. Children under 12 can attend for free. Youth 12+ can attend for $50 if sharing a room with an adult. And college students sharing a double room can attend for $110 for the entire event including meals.

Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) The MIM visit includes a 2 hr workshop and a day pass to the museum. The cost is $50 which includes transportation from the Franciscan Renewal Center. If you plan to arrive on Thursday and stay at the Franciscan Center the cost is $100 and includes overnight room and breakfast at the Center in addition to roundtrip transportation. Lunch at MIM is on your own. You will find the option to add this great event just below the actual conference registration.


  • We will refund your full conference registration fees minus a $50 fee for cancellation before August 15, 2019.
  • All Conference Registration fees are non-refundable after August 16, 2019.

Payment: Payment can be made by check, money order, or online via credit card or PayPal account.

Conference Scholarship

Consistent with the values promoted by the organization, we would like to be able to include everyone who wants to attend, and we try to do that. We expect everyone to pay some portion of the conference fee. Our funds are limited and we may or may not be able to meet everyone’s needs. Scholarship does not cover the pre-conference day at the MIM

  1. Fill in this form and submit as soon as possible.
  2. Register for the conference.  Indicate you are coming as a member/double ($325) and that you will pay by check.  When the final decisions are made, the amount will be amended.
  3. Send a check for $50 to 10 Court St #22, Arlington, MA. 02476 to hold your spot.


We assume most people will want double rooms. Please be sure to let us know on your registration form if you have someone to room with (by name) or if you want us to assign you a roommate. We will get back to you as soon as possible with your assignment.


The facility can handle most dietary requirements with advance notice. Please be specific on your form.

Special Requirements

If you want to inquire about any of the following, please contact Jane Arsham (

  • Deposits. We prefer that participants pay in full when registering. But you can reserve your space at the conference with a $50 non-refundable deposit, which must be paid directly to the CMN office, not through the online registration system. The balance must be paid at Registration or earlier.
  • You are traveling with a spouse/partner who will not be attending the conference and would like to discuss rates for the non-participants.
  • You want to pay via credit card but don’t want to do this online.
  • You don’t see the right option for you on the registration form.
  • You want to reserve room nights before or after conference (see above).
